Projects and status summaries

Group folders into projects with a work room, reference documents and a project map, and open weekly reports and briefings instantly.

Create a project

Option 1 — from a folder (recommended)

  1. In Folders, right-click the project folder.
  2. Select "Create a project with this folder as its main folder".
  3. Choose "New project" or "Existing project", then select "Attach this folder".

Option 2 — start with a name

  1. Sidebar Project dashboard › "New project"
  2. Enter a name, client and status, then select "Create"
  3. Attach the main folder later.

The project screen

Tab What's there
Work room Recent documents, mail, events and to-dos for the project
Reference documents Mark documents like contracts or specs as the reference
Mail Mail related to this project
Project knowledge Summaries, decisions and people drawn from the documents
Reports Weekly report · project briefing
History Changes made in the project

"Project map" at the top shows how documents, people and decisions relate.

Understanding index

Documents in project folders are read more deeply than the regular index, to pull out summaries, entities and decisions.

  • Turn it on in Settings › Indexing › "Understanding index".
  • It applies only to documents inside folders assigned to a project.
  • Manage progress with "Continue AI indexing" and "Redo all AI indexing" on the folder screen.

Project status summaries (Living view)

On the project screen, open "Project report", then "Weekly report" or "Project briefing". They're built from project knowledge already gathered, so opening them uses no AI allowance. Use "Export to PDF" to share.

Ask within a project

In Ask your documents, set the scope to "Choose project" to get answers from that project's documents only.
