ASTERONHow to use it
- Press Alt+Space anywhere.
- Start typing; results appear as you type.
- Use ↑↓ to choose and Enter to open the original. "Show in Explorer" opens the file's location.
- Press Esc to close.
Quick search works without signing in. Once you sign in or choose "Continue without signing in" when you first open the app, it's ready. Until then you'll see "Open ASTERON KMS first". AI question mode starts with Standard.
If the shortcut clashes with another program
If another program already uses Alt+Space, the shortcut switches automatically to Ctrl+Space or Win+Alt+Space. You can see the current shortcut in the app's Settings › General.
Quick search tools
Besides documents, the window offers a calculator, app launcher, Windows settings and web search. Turn them on or off in Settings › General › Quick search tools.
On Standard and up
- Switch between search mode and AI question mode. Answers come with their source documents.
- If it hasn't looked at everything yet, the AI asks under its answer whether to search more. See Ask your documents.
- Summarize and compare buttons are available for the results.
You can also open the same window by right-clicking the tray icon and choosing "Open quick search".
